Our mission is to help kids prepare for a rapid changing future by teaching them the skills they need to create opportunities and fulfillment for themselves.
Our Programs
We believe students learn and grow by actively creating and bringing new things into existence. When students work on creating their own video game, Minecraft mod, virtual world, app, or business they are forced to improve in critical future-ready skills.

Creating Video Games (Ages 7-10)
Kids will learn to make games via a simple visual coding language. This program is a great entry into design and programming skills.
Future-Ready Skills- This class includes exercises that help students improve their digital communication skills. Students have the opportunity to present their work, receive/give feedback, and learn to use storytelling to grab the attention of their audience.
Beginner and Advanced Class
Formats: Live and Self-Paced
Creating Minecraft Mods (Ages 9-13)
Students in this class learn to use coding to make fundamental changes to what is possible in Minecraft. They learn how to create custom blocks, tools/weapons, and NPCs (Mobs).
Future-Ready Skills- This class includes a problem solving technique called computational thinking that helps students break down problems, look for patterns, use abstraction, and create an algorithm to solve the problem.
Beginner and Advanced Class
Formats: Live and Self-Paced
Creating Roblox Games (Ages 9-13)
Students in this class learn how to use Roblox Studio to 3D model and the Lua coding language to write scripts for the games.
Future-Ready Skills- This class includes exercises that help students improve their ability to persevere when trying difficult tasks. Students are introduced to the concept of growth mindset and how to use it to learn and grow through challenges.

Live and Self-Paced Options
Our online classes are offered via the Outschool platform and Zoom. Many of our classes have both a live option and a self-paced option. Live classes meet 1x per week for 6-8 weeks. In the self-paced option, students learn through interactive lessons and videos. Each lesson contains an interactive video that students follow. Students are challenged at the end of each lesson to apply what they learned to a building/coding exercise.
Experienced Instructor
Shawn D. Walk has been an educator for over 20 years. A former elementary teacher who focused on project-based learning, coding, and robotics instruction, Shawn also founded a company in Pittsburgh that partnered with schools to offer coding, Minecraft, and other creative classes. The company was one of the first organizations in the Pittsburgh region to use Minecraft to create engaging programs for students.
