1-on-1 Tutoring • Live Online • Ages 8–14
Personalized coding support, built around creating.
Create2Discover offers live 1-on-1 tutoring in Roblox Studio and Minecraft Modding. Lessons follow a structured curriculum, while pacing, explanations, review, and questions are adjusted to the individual learner.
Tutoring is designed for one learner who benefits from individualized pacing and direct support. If you already have 2–9 learners who want to participate together, explore Private Group Classes.
Choose a creation path
Roblox Studio
Build games and learn Lua coding.
Students create playable Roblox projects while learning how scripts, variables, functions, conditions, loops, events, and debugging work.
- Build worlds, obstacles, objects, and interactive systems.
- Write and change Lua code to control game behavior.
- Test ideas, investigate mistakes, and improve the project.
Minecraft Modding
Create custom Minecraft mods with MCreator.
Students create custom blocks, items, mobs, effects, and behaviors while learning programming logic with MCreator and Blockly.
- Create custom Minecraft content and game systems.
- Practice events, variables, functions, loops, logic, and AI behavior.
- Use Blockbench for selected custom models and textures.
Who 1-on-1 tutoring works well for
Learners who need flexible pacing
Spend more time on a concept when needed or move ahead when the learner is ready without waiting for a group.
Students who ask lots of questions
Direct access to the instructor gives students room to ask why something works, review confusing ideas, and get immediate feedback.
Creators ready for structured growth
Students follow a curriculum that builds skills over time while still making creative choices inside each project.
How tutoring works
- Choose Roblox or Minecraft. Start with the platform your learner is most excited to create with.
- Tell us about your learner. Share their age, previous experience, interests, and scheduling needs.
- Confirm fit and setup. We’ll review technology requirements, the best starting point, and an available weekly time.
- Learn through a structured progression. Each lesson has clear learning goals, with pacing and explanations adjusted to the learner.
Structured learning with room to create
Create2Discover tutoring follows a curriculum that builds skills in a clear progression, while giving students plenty of opportunities to make creative choices within each project. Learners can change how a game or mod looks, behaves, and feels while still working toward specific coding and problem-solving goals.
Students are encouraged to experiment, explain what changed, test their ideas, and make projects their own while continuing to build the core skills in the curriculum.
Schedule and pricing
Most tutoring sessions are scheduled weekly for one hour. The current tutoring rate is $90 per hour. Availability can vary, so we confirm an ongoing time before registration.
Families should also review the cancellation policy before registering: a parent must cancel at least one week in advance for a makeup session or refund.
What students practice beyond coding
Problem solving
Break a goal into smaller steps, test possibilities, and decide what to try next.
Debugging & persistence
Use mistakes as information, investigate what happened, and improve one part at a time.
Creative decision making
Change how a project looks or behaves while explaining the effect of those choices.
A foundation for working with AI
The same habits students practice while coding—defining a goal, breaking it into steps, testing, debugging, and judging whether the result works—also help them use increasingly capable AI tools thoughtfully. Coding remains the concrete learning experience; AI readiness is a supporting skill that grows from learning how to direct and evaluate technology.
Experienced instruction
Shawn has more than 20 years of teaching experience, including 11 years as a classroom teacher. Create2Discover emphasizes understanding over memorization, encouragement over perfection, and clear communication with families.
Parents receive a short summary after tutoring sessions so they know what their child worked on. You can also read our Trust & Safety approach or family reviews.
Not sure which tutoring path is the best fit?
Tell us what your learner enjoys, their age and experience, and what they would like to create. We can help identify the right starting point and discuss current scheduling options.
