Trust & Safety
Clear expectations for safe online learning.
Create2Discover works with children in live online coding and game-creation classes. Families should know who is teaching, what technology is being used, how communication works, and what to expect before a class begins.
Shawn Walk has more than 20 years of teaching experience, including 11 years as an elementary classroom teacher. He holds an active Pennsylvania teaching certification and a master’s degree in education, and has completed a background check through Checkr. A copy can be requested before tutoring.
What families can expect
Learning structure
Clear goals with room to create
Classes follow a structured curriculum while giving students opportunities to make creative choices, ask questions, test ideas, and learn through mistakes.
Parent communication
Families stay informed
For 1-on-1 tutoring, parents receive a short summary after each session describing what their child worked on. Families can also ask questions about fit, curriculum, setup, and scheduling before starting.
Accounts
Passwords stay with families
Create2Discover does not need a child’s password. Families create and manage their child’s platform accounts and device access.
Technology
Tools are explained up front
Depending on the program, classes may use Roblox Studio, Minecraft Java Edition, MCreator, Blockbench, and an online meeting platform.
Privacy
Collect only what is needed
Public forms and customer records should collect only the information needed to answer inquiries, arrange instruction, manage enrollment, or provide the service.
Student data
Student Hub stays separate
Student Hub information is kept separate from the public website and is available only through protected staff/customer workflows.
Lesson recordings for review and transparency
Create2Discover currently records live lessons when parent or guardian permission is in place. Recordings help students revisit explanations, code changes, debugging steps, and project work after class while giving families greater visibility into the instruction provided.
Permission first
Parent permission comes first
Current Create2Discover families are asked directly for parent or guardian permission before recording is used for their learner. Future Create2Discover registrations will include lesson-recording permission as part of the registration process.
Protected access
Recordings stay protected
Lesson recordings are kept for the enrolled learner and family to review, with Create2Discover staff access as needed to support instruction and safety. As recording access is integrated into Student Hub, it will remain behind protected access and will not be used for public posting or marketing.
Review & transparency
Students can revisit the lesson
Recordings help students review what they learned and give families a clear record of the session, including explanations, project work, and the learning process.
Recording is used only when parent or guardian permission is in place. Recordings are kept out of public and marketing use, and protected access remains part of the Student Hub recording workflow. Future registrations will include recording permission directly as part of registration.
Respectful participation
Students are expected to participate respectfully and use class technology for the learning activities being taught. Families should contact Create2Discover if they have concerns about class behavior, account setup, privacy, or the technology being used.
Questions before enrolling?
If you have a question about technology requirements, class fit, account setup, privacy, or safety expectations, ask before scheduling the first session.
